The Baca County Division of Emergency Management (BCDEM) is responsible for reducing the loss of life and property, as well as protecting our critical infrastructure from natural and man-made disasters. The BCDEM successfully accomplishes its mission through a comprehensive, risk-based emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. In an effort to better protect our community's residents and visitors, we have developed this website to provide up-to-date emergency information (i.e., road closures, evacuations, terrorist threat levels, etc.) and what steps you should take during an emergency. Additionally, there are links to family emergency preparedness activities and information on disaster training. Baca County is part of the Southeast Colorado All Hazards Region (SECAHR). Please visit the SE Region Link. The Home Page (where you are) is where emergency alerts and important information will be posted.
